• Homework:
• Pick up Oedipus Rex packet (I didn't have any extra copies made, so write your name on yours and don't lose it)
• Parts of this packet will be graded as we go, and the packet will be graded in its entirety when we finish the text; do work as it is assigned so that your grade doesn't suffer. If something is assigned, I reserve the right to take it as a grade when that portion is due (ex: I can take p. 3 and 4 as grades on Wednesday.)
• Define vocabulary words on p. 3 (use a dictionary or the interwebz)
• Write brief responses (1-2 sentences) to 4 Corners Discussion questions on p. 4

• RL5 handout and review (analyze impact of a text's structure on its meaning)
• "To Build a Fire" background information as class
• Independently, read "To Build a Fire" (p. 596-610)
• You may either use the online textbook or a hard copy
• As you read, use the "Comprehension" annotations in your textbook to pause and self-check for comprehension
• While you're reading/after you're done, complete "Analyzing Structure" graphic organizer (turn in when you're done)
• Homework:
• USA Test Prep 1/8-15 due tonight at midnight
• Finish today's assignment, if needed. "Analyzing Structure" graphic organizers due at the beginning of class Wednesday if you did not finish today
• If you do not have access to the online textbook at home, you may come in before school any day to use a hard copy. I get here around 7:30 every morning.
