Today in Class: January 11, 2016

Laws of Life Day 3: Peer editing and begin final drafts
  • If he or she has not done so yet, please ask my substitute to hand your rough drafts back to you. I've left all of them that I received Friday on my desk to be handed back to you. There aren't any lurking elsewhere on my desk; I double-checked.
  • Students will participate in 4 rounds of 5 minutes of peer editing per essay
    • Use "Reminders for peer editing and revision of Laws of Life essays" Word document as a reference as you peer edit and revise your own work
      • To get to this document, go to the Resources tab > Laws of Life folder > "Reminders for peer editing and revision of Laws of Life essays" document
    • Remember to write "Checked by:" and your name at the top of each paper you edit. Remember that I need to clearly be able to see the suggestions that you made on each paper you edited.
    • Peer editing is part of your grade on this assignment. Do not skip over it.
  • Once you have completed 4 rounds of 5 minutes of peer editing per essay, you will begin typing your final draft in Microsoft Word
    • If you do not have your laptop today, you will write your final draft in pen
  • You will be given classtime Wednesday to finish writing your final drafts. They will be due at the end of class Wednesday, so if you think you may need additional time, work on it at home before Wednesday.
  • If you finish your final draft before the end of class today, work on Achieve 3000 (10th grade)/USA Test Prep (11th grade)
    • Juniors, remember that 1/8-15 is due this Friday, the 15th. The assignment will close after Friday, and you will not be able to access it for late submission. GET IT DONE.
