- Reviewed Benchmark 2 Blueprint
- Finished reading from My Bondage and My Freedom
- Reviewed narrative writing exemplars
- Wrote and submitted first draft of personal narrative:
- College applications often require a reflective essay about
an experience that helped shape you as a person. Just as Douglass described how
knowledge freed him, identify a key event in your life, and write an essay
communicating its significance. Follow the model Douglass set of combining
narration, or storytelling, with other rhetorical strategies, such as
description, exposition, or explanation, and –if appropriate—persuasion.
B4
- What are the characteristics of a good play?
- This week: In a group of 3-4, write and prepare to perform a 5
minute long play. Students turned in scripts at the end of class today.
- Tuesday, you'll have about 30 minutes to prepare, then each
group will perform their play! Feel free to bring in props and costumes.
- Each group member must have a recurring speaking role in your play (more than just one line).
- Announcements:
- Late work cut-off December 11: assignments less than a month old only
- Final exam 20% of final grade, Thursday 12/17
